I got a guitar. I got a new, brand new ovation guitar. Not all that fancy shmancy, but I love it :D It's black. I'm sure my new obsession will take up much of my time. Therefore, I don't see myself writing all that much . . . Well, that's actually untrue, I will never ever give up writing. Even for music, but then again I don't know how much I'm going to fall in love with music. Yummy.
I just tried to learn some chords. Epic failure. I can't do a bar chord to save my life. hahaha. My rings may have something to do with it :/ And they did :) I took them off and I can actually do it now. It's going to take a while for me to be able to do it on demand though, I'm sure. . . My goal is to be able to play . . . Which song should I learn. I KNOW!! I'll try and learn I love you more than you'll ever know and I'll try to be able to play it in 2 weeks. . . so September 15, look for a cover of said song. Don't expect me to sing though. God no.
WOOT! Guitar is awesome! I have an acoustic and love it :P although I'm more or less a beginner at it. I think only know a handful of chords (C+, G+, E+, E-, A+, A-, F+, Bb+, etc.) and the basics for picking. But it's so worth while, since you can actually tote a guitar around while you can't exactly bring a piano on trips with you (even keyboards are hefty; and yes, piano is second love-of-my-life...singing is by far the first lol).
ReplyDeleteBar chords... bleh! I don't bother with them lol. My brother is pretty good at 'em, but my fingers just can't press the darn strings hard enough to get any effect.
2 weeks is plenty of time to learn :D It took me about that long to get in ship-shape to play for my church's morning service. Just beware of the fingers XD they will get calloused and that hurts but it's worth it. I found using superglue (o.O I know lol) really helped since it formed a kind of instant callous. Looks kinda...odd...but it works :P All the best in your endeavours!!
